Alliances Are Back! - By on October 14th, 2008

For a short while I removed the alliances. This was to deal with towering issues and other cheap victory strategies that often caused major annoyances to other players.  Today I re-added them.

Woah, woah!

The only reason I re-added them is because I feel I’ve found a way to solve the towering issue.  A change to the alliance system has been made.  Allies no longer shared land, and they no longer share resources.  They only share victory.  Allies can still see each others’ territories though.

On another note:

Three new maps have been added to the server. Congradulations to sa_angelsarena (by Artificial), sa_highland (by Artificial and I), and sa_olympus (by Gimmik)

Due to complaints of sa_olympus, expect a new map sa_olympia to replace it shortly.  I will also be replacing one other map on the maplist.  Which map would you guys like to see go most?

And for which map I would want to go, definitely sa_tropical. That map bugs me so much. The general idea is OK, so if someone wanted to remake it properly, then I would say yes, but currently, the map is awfully optimized and just crap overall.

Because it fails. First off, it was badly made, with many flaws including being able to get outside the gate, along with multiple other bugs. Also, I believe you didn’t func_detail anything (correct me if i’m wrong). And a map with all of those cut up brushes, creates way too many vis leafs to be able to avoid doing that. There are also other things I heard people complaining about, I don’t remember what.

I think that sa_angelsarena should be removed, the gameplay sucks, its really bland, you can build behind the buildings and ninja with no problem at all, and there are several other things that makes this map useless and stupid.
