Servers Back Up - By Spacetech on July 17th, 2010

Many of you have noticed that our servers were down and the website wasn’t responding.

This was due to a DNS problem that also affected many other sites such as facepunch and garry.tv

The problem seems to be resolved so the servers are all good now.

In other news the we are almost finished sorting through the admin applications so you will be seeing some new admins soon!

Quick Update - By Spacetech on June 8th, 2010

You may have noticed the lack of updates involving the servers and forums.  We hope you understand that many of us are still in school so exams must come before Sassilization. cold has successfully resolved most of the forum issues.

With that said many of you probably noticed that the lobby has been down since the last garry’s mod update.  The update has caused many of the lobby functions to stop working so we decided that it should be shut down so it can be fixed.  Bentech has been working on it diligently and has been making great progress. Please do not ask “when will it be done!?!?”. It will be done and released when its done.

Earlier today I did a quick update to the servers so that you may lookup your Sassilization account username and reset your account’s password directly the server.

From now on anyone who is found buying or selling dough will be banned.

You also cannot trade dough for VIP, anyone found doing so will also be banned.

Overlapping Circle Outline-age! - By on January 10th, 2010

OMGWTFBBQ?!!  Is Sassafrass making a blog post?  YES, yes I am. Anyone who was watching me script Nuclear Warfare on my livestream the previous night would know I was having difficulties getting the missile turrets’ attack-preview-circle not to draw when overlapping another circle.  Well, I just now made it work! Exciting? Yes! Finished? Not quite. But it is a start.  Tomorrow I will make it actually work in the game instead of in this test script I threw together.
Check out this awesome overlapping circle outline-age.

Ignore the white circles, those just show where the circles are situated.  The important thing to notice is the red circle and how it does not go inside the white circle.  Amazing, is it not?

Just implemented it for Nuclear Warfare. Here’s a screen shot of what I was trying to accomplish.

Mapping Contest: The Results - By cold on November 21st, 2009

Mapping Contest: Phase 1 Complete - By cold on November 8th, 2009

Yesterday all of the admins got together and play tested all of the submitted maps. The maps that were submitted looked great and we had a lot of fun playing and judging them. We decided that the maps all should get play tested on the public server. The public play test will be the last chance for any of the admins to change their scores. In addition any issues which were mentioned in my posts on each submission should be fixed in order to give the best chance for scores to go up. I will be contacting each map maker to arrange a time to play test on the server, provided any major issues I mentioned in their submission gets fixed.

All in all, the submissions were very nice and the results should be interesting and exciting for everyone. I look forward to trying the maps on the server with everyone, should be fun! I will probably make another blog post when the schedule for trying the maps has been created. I expect the first play test to be early next week.
