Sassilization: a Post-mortem

The past few months have been really hard for us. Our community has dwindled substantially, with many players leaving aggravated by the repeated server moves and host changes, the delays, setbacks and broken promises. The fact of the matter is — someone hates us. Someone really, really hates us. They don’t want the gamemode we’ve dedicated so much time and love to seeing the light of day.
These individuals have been flooding us with massive DDoS attacks non-stop for a considerable amount of time. We’ve gone though several hosts, but none of them have been able to withstand the barrage. This has taken quite a toll: most of the funds contributed to us over the years by our players are now gone. We are out of options, and this is our last stand.
We have moved our servers to a host that can guarantee us protection from any and all attacks. But being carefree, as you may know, has a big price tag — we only have enough money left to keep the servers up for 3 or, with the occasional donation, 4 months. Regardless, development on the RTS remains in full swing thanks to the ardent development team headed by Hateful and Chewgum. The final beta tests have begun, and we’re ironing out the kinks. If all remains well, Sassilization will return.
We need your support now more than ever.
Spread the word around, play on our servers, and please consider donating.
Three of our servers (Deathrun, Bunny Hop and Climb) are now located at the following IP: 192.31.185.138. If you’d like to add them to your favorites, open your server browser, click on “Add a Server” in the favorites tab and paste the IP in. All three servers are under the same IP address, as can be seen here, so just click “Add this address to favorites” to confirm. The individual hostnames are:
If you’ve been accepted into the closed RTS beta, the testing server can be found here: 192.31.185.140:27015. More information for testers is available in the Beta Testers’ Lair.
Thank you for reading, and let’s hope that Sassilization will make it through these hard times, emerging better and stronger.
